Installing Knock Sensor

Information 

Tightening torques, tightening sequence and assembly overviews for the engine and transmission:

• Group 1: 

  > WM, 1X00IN TECHNICAL VALUES - V6 BITURBO

• Group 2: 

  > 2X00IN TECHNICAL VALUES

• Group 3: 

> WM 3X00IN TECHNICAL VALUES, TRANSMISSION (EXCEPT CAYENNE, CAYENNE GTS, CAYENNE TURBO S, CAYENNE S, CAYENNE S E-HYBRID, CAYENNE TURBO, CAYENNE (3.0))

Information 

• Observe the specified tightening torque for the knock sensor screw. 
• Align the housing and cable plug for the knock sensor in such a way that they are not touching. 
• Otherwise, there is no guarantee that the knock sensor will work correctly. 

Information 

• Clean contact surface of knock sensor with a cloth. 

1. Install knock sensors -1-  . Make sure that the knock sensors are aligned as shown in the illustration.

   Knock sensors 

   1. Knock sensor
   2. Fastening screw, M8 x 35
2. Tighten fastening screws -2-  .
3. Push on cable plug.
