Removing Pneumatic Spring For Rear Window

WARNING: Preloaded or pressurised components
  • Risk of squashing or bruising

→ Do not reach into the danger area.

→ Relieve the tension on components before starting work.

→ Secure components to prevent them from loosening suddenly.

  1. Open rear lid and rear window.
  2. Unscrew fastening screws -2-  .

  3. Unclip and remove the deformation element -1-  .

    Information 

    • A new lid must be used during installation. 
  4. Pull cover -3-  off in a downward direction and remove it (-arrows A-  ).

  5. Remove the remaining sealing material on the body.
  6. Secure rear window against accidental closure.
  7. Loosen safety clips of pneumatic springs for rear window -4-  at ball sockets using a screwdriver and remove the clips.

  8. Pull the pneumatic springs for the rear window -4-  from the ball heads and remove.
