Wheel acceleration sensor, front left: Diagnosis/troubleshooting

DIAGNOSIS/TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE

Work instruction Display OK If not OK
1 Check power supply for front left wheel acceleration sensor
  • Switch off ignition.
  • Pull off plug on front left wheel acceleration sensor.
  • Switch on ignition.
  • Measure voltage between plug B of front left wheel acceleration sensor 'pins 1 and 3'.
 ~ 5 V
Go to Step 2		 Repair or replace wiring harness.

2 Check wiring between front left wheel acceleration sensor and level control module for short circuit to B+
  • Switch off ignition.
  • Pull plug B off level control module.
  • Pull plug B off front left wheel acceleration sensor.
  • Switch on ignition.
  • Measure voltage between level control module plug B 'pins 86, 98, 110' and ground.
 < 0.3 V
Go to Step 3		 Repair or replace wiring harness.

3 Check wiring between front left wheel acceleration sensor and level control module for short circuit to ground
  • Switch off ignition.
  • Measure resistance between level control module plug B 'pins 86, 98, 110' and ground.
 ∞ Ω
Go to Step 4		 Repair or replace wiring harness.
→ End
4 Check wiring between front left wheel acceleration sensor and level control module for open circuit
  • Measure resistance between level control module plug B 'pins 86, 98, 110' and front left wheel acceleration sensor plug B 'pins 2, 3, 1'.
 < 5 Ω
Go to Step 5		 Repair or replace wiring harness.

5 Check wiring between front left wheel acceleration sensor and level control module for short circuit with respect to each other
  • Measure resistance in the individual level control module wires on plug B between 'pins 86 and 98', 'pins 86 and 110', and 'pins 98 and 110'.
 ∞ Ω
Go to Step 6		 Repair or replace wiring harness.

6 Replace front left wheel acceleration sensor → End Go to Step 7
7 Replace level control module → End
