Selector switch (level control module): Diagnosis/troubleshooting

DIAGNOSIS/TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE

Work instruction Display OK If not OK
1 Check wiring between level control system control module and level control module for short circuit to B+:
  • Switch off ignition.
  • Pull plug A off level control module.
  • Pull plug off level control system control module.
  • Switch on ignition.
  • Measure voltage between level control module plug A 'pin 46' and ground.
< 0.3 V
Go to Step 2
Repair or replace wiring harness.

2 Check wiring between level control system control module and level control module for short circuit to ground:
  • Switch off ignition.
  • Measure resistance between level control module plug A 'pin 46' and ground.
∞ Ω
Go to Step 3
Repair or replace wiring harness.
→ End
3 Check wiring between level control system control module and level control module for open circuit:
  • Measure resistance between level control module plug A 'pin 46' and level control system control module 'pin 7'.
< 5 Ω
Go to Step 4
Repair or replace wiring harness.
→ End
4 Check selector switch:
  • Use the 'Input signals' menu item in the 9588 Porsche System Tester II to check the values for 'Up switch, Down switch, shock-absorber adjustment switch, Normal level LED and Low level LED'.
→ End Go to Step 5
5 Replace selector switch. → End Go to Step 6
6 Replace level control module. → End
