Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the MAF sensor.
- Ignition OFF, test for less than 10 Ω between the MAF sensor low reference circuit terminal 4 and ground G104.
- If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the PCM.
- Ignition ON, test for B+ between the ignition voltage circuit terminal 3 and ground.
- If less than the specified range, test the ignition voltage circuit for an open/high resistance, or a short to ground.
- Verify the scan tool MAF sensor parameter is less than 0.5 g/s.
- If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the PCM.
- Connect a test lamp between the ignition voltage circuit terminal 3 and the signal circuit terminal 5. Verify the MAF sensor parameter is greater than 200 g/s.
- If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the PCM.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the MAF sensor.
