Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the RCDLR.
- Test for less than 1Ω between the ground circuit terminal 1 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Verify that a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 5 and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
- Disconnect the harness connector at the BCM.
- Ignition ON, test for less than 1V between the following circuit terminals at the BCM harness connector and ground:
- Signal circuit terminal 16
- Signal circuit terminal 17
- If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage.
- Test for infinite resistance between the following circuit terminals at the BCM harness connector and ground:
- Signal circuit terminal 16
- Signal circuit terminal 17
- If not the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage.
- Test for less than 2Ω between the following signal circuit terminals:
- Terminal 16 at the BCM harness connector and terminal 2 at the RCDLR harness connector
- Terminal 17 at the BCM harness connector and terminal 3 at the RCDLR harness connector
- If not within the specified range, test the signal circuit for an open/high resistance.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the RCDLR. If the DTC resets, replace the BCM.
