Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2009 GMC Savana and 2009 Chevrolet Chevy Express. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

    NOTE: Do not reuse the original O-ring seal.
  1. If reinstalling the old CMP sensor, install a NEW O-ring seal onto the sensor.
  2. Install the CMP sensor to the wiring harness jumper.
  3. Connect the CMP sensor wiring harness jumper to the CMP sensor.
  4. Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil.
  5. Install the CMP sensor and wiring harness jumper to the engine front cover.
  6. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  7. Install the CMP sensor bolt and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  9. Install the water pump. Refer to Water Pump Replacement (LU3) .
  10. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) to the CMP sensor wiring harness jumper (2).
