Installation Procedure

  1. Position the steering gear inlet hose to the vehicle.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
    IMPORTANT: Hand tighten the power steering gear inlet hose fittings before finalizing the torques.
  2. Connect the power steering gear inlet hose fitting (1) to the steering gear.

    Tighten:  Tighten the fitting to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  3. Connect the power steering gear inlet hose fitting (1) to the power steering pump.

    Tighten:  Tighten the fitting to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  4. Clean any excess fluid from the vehicle and remove the drain pans.
  5. Install the front tire/wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  6. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
