Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Buick LaCrosse and 2008 Buick Allure. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect the harness connector terminal 27 (ECM) or terminal 25 (PCM) at the EBCM.
  2. Ignition ON, test for 4.7 - 4.8 volts between the requested torque signal circuit Connector C2 terminal 15 (ECM) or Connector C1 terminal 15 (PCM) and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the PCM/ECM.
    • If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the PCM/ECM.
  3. If all circuits test normal, replace the EBCM.
