Installation Procedure

  1. Install the generator rear brace.
  2. Install the generator rear brace bolt (1).
  3. Install the generator rear brace nut (2).
    4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  4. Tighten the generator bolts in the order described. The following is a mandatory torque sequence:

    Tighten: 

    1. Tighten the generator rear brace bolt (1) to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
    2. Tighten the generator rear brace nut (2) to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  5. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (L26) or Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (L32) Engine Mechanical - 3.8L.
