Installation Procedure

  1. Install the accelerator cable (5) and the bracket (1) to the bulkhead.
  2. NOTE: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
  3. Secure with the 2 bolts (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

  4. Connect the accelerator cable to the accelerator pedal.

  6. Connect the accelerator cable (2) to the throttle lever (3). Opening the throttle lever by hand will aide in the accelerator cable installation.
  7. Connect the accelerator cable to the accelerator cable bracket.
  8. Secure with the 2 nuts (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the locknuts to 8 N.m (71 lb in).
