Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the fuel sender assembly (2) from the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Sender Assembly Replacement (FWD)  or Fuel Sender Assembly Replacement (AWD) .

  3. Disconnect the fuel pump and fuel level sensor (1) electrical connectors.

  5. Compress the assembly spring (1) and remove the E-clip (2) from the guide post of the fuel sender assembly upper support.

  7. Release the lock tab (1) of the fuel pump transfer jet tube (2) and disconnect the tube from the lower housing.

  9. Release the 2 lock tabs (1) securing the fuel pump and filter assembly to the lower housing.

  11. Separate the upper support and fuel pump filter assembly (1) from the lower housing (2).

  13. Use a screwdriver with a tape protected end (3) in order to release the 5 lock tabs (1, 2) the fuel pump strainer assembly.

  15. Remove the fuel pressure regulator (1) from the fuel filter assembly (2).
