Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front wheels and tires. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Front Suspension.
  2. Remove the stabilizer shaft. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Replacement in Front Suspension.
  3. Remove the power steering gear. Refer to Power Steering Gear Replacement in Power Steering System.
  4. Remove the lower control arms. Refer to Lower Control Arm Replacement in Front Suspension.
  5. Remove the lower control arm rods. Refer to Front Lower Control Arm Rod Replacement in Front Suspension.
  6. Remove the lower control arm rod insulators. Refer to Front Lower Control Arm Rod Insulator Bushing Replacement in Front Suspension.
  7. Remove the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement (Without Hood Scoops) or Hood Replacement (With Hood Scoops) in Body Front End.
  8. Using the J 28467-B  and J 41803  support/raise the engine. See Special Tools and Equipment  .
  9. Remove the engine mount brackets from the front frame. Refer to Engine Mount Bracket Replacement - Left and Engine Mount Bracket Replacement - Right in Engine Mechanical - 5.7L.

  10. Support the front frame (2) on a jack and remove the 4 bolts (3, 4) securing the front frame (2) to the side frame members (1).
  11. Lower and remove the front frame (2) from the vehicle.
