Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and 2004 Chevrolet Impala. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the CKP sensor (1).
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the CKP sensor bolts (4).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  4. Install the CKP sensor harness retaining clip (3).
  5. Install the CKP sensor harness retaining clip bolt (4).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  6. Connect the CKP sensor electrical connector.
  7. Install the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 3.4L.
  8. Perform the crankshaft variation learn procedure. Refer to CKP System Variation Learn Procedure .
