Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2004 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2004 GMC Envoy XUV, 2004 GMC Envoy XL, 2004 GMC Envoy, and 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door  or Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door .
  2. Remove the front half of the water deflector in order to expose the door access hole.
  3. Remove the bolt retaining the front lower window run channel. Refer to Window Weatherstrip Run Channel Assembly Replacement - Front .

  5. Remove the 2 bolts that retain the check link to the pillar.

  7. Remove the rubber dust boot from the check link in order to gain access to the door retaining nuts.

  9. Remove the 2 check link retaining nuts from the door.
  10. Remove the check link assembly through the door access hole.
