Spark Plug Wires: Inspection

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Chevrolet Corvette. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Spark plug wire integrity is vital for proper engine operation. A thorough inspection will be necessary to accurately identify conditions that may affect engine operation. Ensure routing of the spark plug wires is correct. Incorrect routing may cause cross-firing. Any signs of cracks or splits in the wires. Inspect each boot for tearing, piercing, arcing, carbon tracking and corroded terminals.
