DTC P1554: Cruise Control Signal Status Failure To Powertrain Control Module (5.7L Engine): Description
Powertrain Control Module (PCM) has ability to disable cruise control if conditions are detected which makes cruise control operation undesirable. Conditions may cause cruise control to be inhibited by PCM as follows: engine stall, Transaxle Range (TR) switch indicates Park, Neutral, Low or Reverse gear selected, engine speed is too high or low, vehicle speed is too high or low, Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) is active for 2 seconds or more, or vehicle acceleration or deceleration rate is too high. If any of these conditions exist, PCM will interrupt ground on cruise control inhibit circuit to request cruise control be disengaged. If cruise control status signal indicates cruise control is still engaged while PCM is inhibiting cruise control operation, DTC P1554 will be set. A history DTC will clear after 40 consecutive warm-up cycles have occurred without a malfunction. DTC can be cleared using a scan tool.
