Glow Plug: Removal

NOTE: On the Federal Emissions systems there is a buss bar connecting the glow plugs on each bank of the engine. See Fig 1.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cables. Remove the push-in retainers from the appropriate wheelhouse panel. Remove the top clips retaining the harness to the top of the wheelhouse panel. Remove the wheelhouse panel from the wheelhouse.
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. See AIR CLEANER OUTLET DUCT  under AIR INDUCTION SYSTEMS. Remove the glow plug nuts from the desired glow plug(s). Remove the harness from the desired glow plug(s). Remove the harness from the desired glow plug(s).
