Removal & Installation

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
  2. Remove engine protection plate, if equipped. Remove Connector Position Assurance (CPA) clip from front end discriminating sensor connector and disconnect connector. See Fig 1. Remove front end discriminating sensor mounting bolt. Remove front end discriminating sensor.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure arrow on front end discriminating sensor is pointing towards front of vehicle. Tighten front end discriminating sensor mounting bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system.
