Power Mirrors - Memory Functions Inoperative

1	Did you perform the Door Systems Diagnostic System Check?	Go to Step 2	Go to Diagnostic System Check - Door Systems
2	Place the mirror select switch in the left mirror position. Activate the mirror position switch in the UP, DOWN, LEFT and RIGHT directions and note the operation. Place the mirror select switch in the right mirror position. Activate the mirror position switch in the UP, DOWN, LEFT and RIGHT directions and note the operation. Do both power mirrors operate properly?	Go to Step 3	Go to Power Mirrors Inoperative (Except Escalade) or Power Mirrors Inoperative (Escalade Only)
3	Install a scan tool. Monitor the memory switch data parameter. Are any of the memory switch data parameters active without a switch activation?	Go to Step 7	Go to Step 4
4	Monitor the memory switch data parameter. Activate the memory 1, memory 2 and exit switches one at a time. Do the memory switch data parameters display the active states properly?	Go to Step 5	Go to Step 6
5	Command the mirrors to move with the mirror switch to the full up and full left positions. Press and hold the memory 1 switch until two audible tones are heard. With a scan tool, monitor and record the left and right mirror horizontal and vertical position data parameter voltage values. Command the mirrors to move with the mirror switch to the full down and full right positions. Press and release the memory 1 switch. Do the mirrors recall to within .2 volts of the stored mirror horizontal and vertical position data parameter voltage values recorded earlier?	Go to TESTING FOR INTERMITTENT AND POOR CONNECTIONS	Go to Step 11
6	Disconnect the memory switch Connect a test lamp to good ground. Probe the battery positive voltage circuit at the memory switch harness connector. Does the test lamp illuminate?	Go to Step 8	Go to Step 13
7	Disconnect the memory switch. Does the memory switch data parameter change to idle?	Go to Step 12	Go to Step 9
8	Monitor the memory switch data parameter. Connect a 3 Amp fused jumper between the memory switch battery positive voltage circuit and the memory switch signal circuits, one at a time, at the memory switch harness connector. Does the memory switch data parameter display the active states properly at each test point?	Go to Step 12	Go to Step 10
9	Test for a short to battery in the appropriate memory switch signal circuits. Refer to CIRCUIT TESTING and WIRING REPAIRS . Did you find and correct the condition?	Go to Step 16	Go to Step 11
10	Test for an open or short to ground in the memory switch signal circuits. Refer to CIRCUIT TESTING and WIRING REPAIRS . Did you find and correct the condition?	Go to Step 16	Go to Step 11
11	Inspect for poor connections at the memory mirror module. Refer to TESTING FOR INTERMITTENT AND POOR CONNECTIONS and CONNECTOR REPAIRS . Did you find and correct the condition?	Go to Step 16	Go to Step 14

13	Repair the open in the memory switch battery positive voltage circuit. Refer to WIRING REPAIRS . Did you find and correct the condition?	Go to Step 16	-
