DTC P1554: Cruise Control Feedback Circuit: Testing
- If cruise control diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If cruise control diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to CRUISE CONTROL DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located under left side of instrument panel. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, select DISPLAY DTCs function and retrieve any PCM DTCs. If no DTCs were retrieved, go to next step. If DTC P1585 was retrieved, go to DTC P1585: CRUISE CONTROL INHIBIT OUTPUT CIRCUIT .
- Using scan tool, observe CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVE parameter from ENGINE DATA 1 data list. If cruise control active parameter does not indicates YES, go to next step. If cruise control active parameter indicates YES, go to step 7 .
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect Cruise Control Module (CCM) 10-pin harness connector. CCM is located on left side of engine compartment, near strut tower. See Figure . Using scan tool, observe CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVE parameter from ENGINE DATA 1 data list. If parameter does not indicate NO, go to next step. If parameter indicates NO, go to step 6 .
- Check for short to ground in White wire between CCM harness connector terminal "J" and Powertrain Control Module (PCM) harness connector C2 terminal No. 59. See Figure and Figure . If problem is found, repair as necessary and go to step 10 . If no problem is found, go to step 7 .
- Check for poor, loose or terminals in CCM harness connector. If problem is found, repair as necessary and go to step 10 . If no problem is found, go to step 8 .
- Check for poor, loose or terminals in PCM harness connector. If problem is found, repair as necessary and go to step 10 . If no problem is found, go to step 9 .
- Replace CCM. See CRUISE CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs are made, go to step 10 .
- Replace PCM. See POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in BODY CONTROL MODULES - AZTEK article. After repairs are made, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, clear DTC. Operate vehicle within conditions for code enable criteria. If DTC P1554 does not reset, testing is complete. If DTC P1554 resets, go to step 2 .
