Checking Fluid Level

Check lubricant level at filler plug hole on right side of transmission (left side on 6-speed transmission). Lubricant should be level with bottom of filler plug hole. Add lubricant as necessary to bring to correct level.

CAUTION: On models with 5-speed transmission, do not mistake reverse -shift lever pivot bolt for drain and fill plug. Reverse shift lever return spring may fall into case, causing 2nd gear rattle noise. Drain and fill plugs are on right side of case. Reverse shift-lever pivot bolt is on left side of case.
