Hall Effect Sensor (Pick-Up)

  1. Remove distributor cap and rotor. Disconnect 2-pin connector from ignition module. Check continuity between distributor body and pick-up connector with an ohmmeter. Reading should be infinite (open). If reading is not infinite, replace pick-up.
  2. Check resistance between pick-up coil connector. Perform wiggle test. Resistance should be a steady value of 500-1500 ohms. If resistance is not within specification, replace pick-up.
