DTC P1289: Manifold Tune Valve Control Circuit: Description

Circuit is monitored with ignition on, Automatic Shutdown (ASD) relay energized and battery voltage more than 10 volts. DTC will set when PCM senses Manifold Tune Valve (MTV) is not in desired state. Possible causes are: ground circuit open, MTV relay output circuit open or shorted, fused battery voltage circuit open or shorted, ASD relay output circuit open or shorted, MTV relay output circuit open or shorted, defective MTV relay, defective MTV solenoid or defective PCM.
