Exterior Light Test 6A - Fog Lights Will Not Turn On

NOTE: Perform EXTERIOR LIGHT TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  .
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Turn on low beam headlights. Turn on fog lights. If low beam headlights operate correctly, go to next step. If low beam headlights do not operate correctly, go to EXTERIOR LIGHT TEST 2A  .
  2. Remove fog light relay (No. 12) from junction block. See Figure in EXTERIOR LIGHT TEST 4A. Connect jumper wire between terminals "A" and "B" on relay connector. If fog lights illuminate, go to step 6). If fog lights do not illuminate, go to next step.
  3. With jumper connected, disconnect one fog light connector. Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 1 (Light Blue wire) on fog light harness connector. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Light Blue wire.
  4. Disconnect jumper wire. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Black wire) on fog light harness connector. If resistance is less than 50 ohms, replace fog light bulbs. If resistance is 50 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  5. Disconnect headlight switch connector. Connect jumper wire between ground and terminal No. 2 (Black wire) on headlight switch harness connector. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Black wire) on fog light harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace multifunction switch. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Black wire.
  6. Remove jumper wire. Install known good fog light relay in junction block. If fog lights illuminate, replace relay. If fog lights do not illuminate, go to next step.
  7. With relay installed, installed jumper wire between ground and terminal No. 33 (Pink wire) on junction block "D" connector. If fog lights illuminate, replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located with junction block under driver's side instrument panel. See Figure . If fog lights do not illuminate, go to next step.
  8. With jumper connected, disconnect multifunction switch connector. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 9 (Pink wire) on multifunction switch harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Pink wire. Remove jumper wire.
  9. Connect jumper wire between ground and terminal No. 10 (Orange/White wire) on multifunction switch harness connector. If fog lights illuminate, replace multifunction switch. If fog lights do not illuminate, repair open Orange/White wire.
