Chime Test 5A - Chime Inoperative With Dome Lights On

NOTE: Perform CHIME TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  .
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Open driver's door. Using scan tool, read door ajar status. If scan tool displays DRDOOR AJAR SWITCH: CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool does not display DRDOOR AJAR SWITCH: CLOSED, go to DOOR AJAR TEST 3A  .
  2. Remove ignition key. Using scan tool, read key-in ignition switch status. If scan tool displays KEY-IN IGNITION SW: CLOSED, go to CHIME TEST 4B  . If scan tool does not display KEY-IN IGNITION SW: CLOSED, go to next step.
  3. Turn dome lights on. If dome lights do not illuminate, go to INTERIOR LIGHT TEST 1A  . If dome lights illuminate, determine if chime sounds. If chime does not sound, replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located with junction block under driver's side instrument panel. See Figure . If chime sounds, system is currently functioning correctly.
