Test 10C - Bus Short To Battery

NOTE: For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  and WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform TEST VER-2A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Turn ignition off. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between Body Control Module (BCM) connector "A", terminals No. 3 (Violet/Brown wire) and No. 17 (Red/Yellow wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Violet/Brown wire and Red/Yellow wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
  2. Measure resistance between BCM connector terminals No. 17 (Red/Yellow wire) and No. 34 (White/Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Red/Yellow wire and White/Black wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
  3. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance on BCM connector "A", terminal No. 10 (Black/Light Green wire). If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open Black/Light Green wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace BCM.
