Coolant Sensor Test (1.6L)

  1. Turn ignition off and disconnect wire connector from sensor. Connect one ohmmeter lead to one sensor terminal and the other lead to remaining sensor terminal.
  2. Ohmmeter should indicate 382,000-22,000 ohms at -40° to 20°F (-130 to 7°C); 36,000-3,300 ohms at 50-100°F (10-38°C); and 3,900-176 ohms at 140-245°F (60-118°C). If not to specifications, replace sensor.
