DTC B2783: Key Code/Password Invalid In Memory: Testing

  1. If theft deterrent diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If theft deterrent diagnostic system check has not been performed, perform THEFT DETERRENT DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located below left side of instrument panel, on hood release bracket. Using scan tool, select DISPLAY DTCs function for Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). If scan tool displays DTC B2783 as current, go to next step. If scan tool does not display DTC B2783 as current, inspect for intermittents. See TROUBLE SHOOTING  .
  3. Replace IPC, then go to next step.
  4. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Operate vehicle to verify repair. If DTC resets, repeat test beginning at step  2 .
