DTC P0125: Engine Coolant Temperature Excessive Time To Reach Closed Loop: Description

Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor monitors temperature of coolant. This input is used by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) for engine control and as an enabling criteria for some diagnostics. If engine coolant temperature does not increase normally or does not reach regulating temperature of thermostat, diagnostics that use the ECT as an enabling criteria may not run when expected. Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will set if an excessive amount of time passes before engine coolant temperature reaches closed loop operating temperature.
