Test 1: All Power Seat Functions Inoperative
NOTE:
After each service or repair procedure has been completed, reconnect all components. Repeat power seat system check to ensure system is functioning properly. See SYSTEM CHECKS
under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
- If power seats system check was performed, go to next step. If power seats system check was not performed, go to SYSTEM CHECKS under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
- Using a test light connected to ground, backprobe the following seat switch connector terminal (Orange wire):
- Terminal "L" on LeSabre.
- Terminal "H" (driver's side) or terminal "A" (passenger's side) on Eighty Eight, LSS and Regency.
- Terminal "F" on Bonneville. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, go to step 5) .
- Use test light and backprobe between following seat switch connector terminals (Orange and Black wires).
- Terminals "L" and "A" on LeSabre.
- Terminals "H" and "G" (driver's side) or terminals "A" and "B" (passenger's side) on Eighty Eight, LSS and Regency.
- Terminals "F" and "C" on Bonneville. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, go to step 6) .
- Replace suspect seat switch. See SEAT SWITCHES under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Repair open in Orange wire between suspect seat switch and instrument panel fuse block. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Repair open in Black wire between suspect seat switch and ground. Ground connection is located behind respective front kick panel. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
