Cruise Control Release Switch & Brake Switch Adjustment

- Brake booster pushrod must be assembled to brake pedal before cruise control release switch and brake switch can be adjusted. With brake pedal released, switch plunger should be fully depressed against pedal shank. To adjust, depress pedal and push switch until switch body is fully seated on retainer. Pull pedal toward rear of vehicle, against pedal stop (until clicking sound cannot be heard while pulling pedal). Switch will adjust to proper position in retainer.
- Measuring pedal travel from centerline of brake pedal, ensure switch contacts are open at 1/8-1/2" (3.5-12.5 mm) of pedal travel. Nominal actuation of brake switch contacts is about 3/16" (4.5 mm) after cruise control release switch contacts close. Check brakelights for proper operation.
