Driver's Seat Recliner Functions Completely Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition off. Connect a test light between Orange wire at recliner switch and ground. Turn ignition on. If test light glows, go to next step. If test light does not glow, repair open or short to ground in Orange wire between recliner switch and fuse block.
  2. Using ohmmeter, check resistance between Black wire terminal(s) at recliner switch and ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is not 5 ohms or less, repair open in appropriate Black wire between recliner switch and ground.
  3. Check resistance of Light Blue wire between recliner switch and recliner motor. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is not 5 ohms or less, repair open in Light Blue wire between recliner switch and recliner motor.
  4. Check resistance of Light Green wire between recliner switch and recliner motor. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace recliner motor. If resistance is not 5 ohms or less, repair open in Light Green wire between recliner switch and recliner motor.
