Code 95 - Open Brake Switch Circuit: Notes

This test is used to identify open brake switch circuit preventing brake switch input to EBCM from changing states when brake is applied. This code is used in conjunction with Codes 91 and 92 to determine cause of open brake switch fault. Code 95 will disable ABS function and turn ABS warning light on.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to numbers on diagnostic chart.
  1. Confirms open circuit currently exists.
  2. Determines if brake switch signal is being received by EBCM.
  3. Isolates open circuit to either brake switch or brakelight circuit.
  4. Isolates open circuit to either brake switch input circuit or EBCM.
