Master Cylinder: Reassembly

  1. Lubricate new reservoir O-rings (if reservoir was removed) with clean brake fluid. Install O-rings into grooves in reservoir, ensuring O-rings are seated properly. Install reservoir to master cylinder by pressing straight down with hands. Carefully install spring pins retaining reservoir to cylinder body.
  2. Lubricate seals with clean brake fluid and install onto secondary piston. Install spring, spring retainer and secondary piston assembly into cylinder bore.
  3. Lubricate primary piston seals with clean brake fluid and install primary piston assembly into cylinder bore. Depress primary piston and install lock ring.
  4. Install fluid level switch. Fill master cylinder with clean brake fluid and bleed master cylinder. See MASTER CYLINDER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
