Master Cylinder: Disassembly

- Clean and remove reservoir cover and empty fluid from reservoir. Pump fluid from master cylinder by depressing piston with wooden dowel. Remove fluid level switch from reservoir by squeezing switch tabs and pulling through reservoir.
- Clamp master cylinder in vise by mounting flange. Remove reservoir by carefully driving out spring pins using 1/8 inch punch. Pull straight up on reservoir to remove.CAUTION: DO NOT damage reservoir or master cylinder body when driving out spring pins.
- Depress primary piston and remove lock ring. Using low pressure compressed air in outlet in end of master cylinder, other outlet plugged, remove primary and secondary piston assemblies.
