Test K: Some, But Not All, Seat Functions Work

  1. Connect a test lamp to the connected Motor Side of Connector C324 (Left) or C326 (right).
  2. Move the Entire Seat Switch to the FORWARD and BACK positions.
  3. Connect the test lamp between terminals C (LT GRN) and D (TAN). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . The correct result is that the test lamp lights. If the result is not as specified, check/repair the wiring to the Seat Switch. If the wiring is okay, replace the Seat Switch. See SEAT SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  4. Connect the test lamp between terminals A (YEL) and B (LT BLU). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Move the Rear Tilt Switch to the UP and DOWN positions. Move the Entire Seat Switch to the UP and DOWN positions. The correct result is that the test lamp lights. If the result is not as specified, check/repair the wiring to the Seat Switch. If the wiring is okay, replace the Seat Switch.
  5. Connect the test lamp between terminals E (DK GRN) and F (DK BLU). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Move the Front Tilt Switch to the UP and DOWN positions. Move the Entire Seat Switch to the UP and DOWN positions. The correct result is that the test lamp lights. If the result is not as specified, check/repair the wiring to the Seat Switch. If the wiring is okay, replace the Seat Switch.
  6. If the test lamp lights in all tests, check the wires leading to the suspect motor for an open. If the wires are okay, replace the motor. See PERMANENT MAGNET ELECTRIC MOTOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
