Code A088 - Abs Red Brake Telltale Circuit Shorted To Battery: Notes

This test isolates a short to battery between EBCM and Red BRAKE telltale light or an open driver circuit that does not allow telltale to be illuminated by EBCM.

NOTE: Test number refers to number on diagnostic chart.
  1. This step identifies if ground circuit to Red BRAKE telltale light is being completed by a source other than EBCM.
  2. This step determines if fault is still present.
  3. By removing 20-amp gauge fuse, voltage source is eliminated. This test indicates if voltage is being supplied from a source other than gauge fuse.
