Code A016 - Enable Relay Coil Circuit Open: Notes

Ignition voltage is supplied through terminal No. A2 of ABS enable relay. EBCM energizes pull-in coil by completing ground circuit at pin No. 22 of EBCM. The magnetic field created will close enable relay contacts to supply battery voltage to Electro-Mechanical Brake (EMB) and EBCM, providing power to motors and solenoids.

This test checks for open in enable relay coil circuit. An open in this circuit will prevent enable relay from being energized and voltage from reaching motors, solenoids and EMB.

1. This step determines if EBCM is capable of controlling relay.
2. This step checks for voltage at pull-in coil of enable relay.
3. This step checks for continuity through pull-in coil of enable relay.
