Code A011 - Abs Warning Indicator Open Or Shorted To Ground: Notes

Light driver module turns on ANTI-LOCK indicator unless Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) provides a ground circuit to turn it off. If circuit No. 852 (White wire) becomes open, light will always be on due to loss of ground at light driver module. If control circuit is shorted to ground, light will remain off.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to numbers on diagnostic chart.
  1. This step checks if warning light is functioning properly.
  2. This step determines if any other codes are present, or if Code A018 is falsely set.
  3. This step verifies circuitry from EBCM to light driver module is complete.
  4. This step verifies ignition circuit to light driver module is okay. An open gauge fuse or open in circuit No. 3 (Pink wire), circuit No. 39 (Pink/Black wire) or circuit No. 875 (Green/Black wire) will result in inoperative indicator lights.
  5. This step isolates cause of warning light remaining off. By disconnecting 24-pin connector, circuit No. 852 (White wire) should open, causing light to be on.
