ECM Compressor Control Test: Notes

NOTE: Outside air temperature should be more than 60°F (16°C) during this test.
  1. Disconnect ECM connectors. ECM is located on right front engine compartment, front of strut tower. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Set A/C-heater control unit to UPPER mode. Connect A/C compressor relay if disconnected.
  2. Using a voltmeter, connect voltmeter leads between Dark Green/White wire and ground at ECM terminal A12 (Orange connector). If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check Dark Green/White wire for an open. If wire is okay, replace A/C compressor relay.
  3. Connect voltmeter leads between Light Green wire and ground at ECM terminal C17 (Green connector). If battery voltage does not exist, check for an open at Light Green wire. If wire is okay, perform A/C COMPRESSOR FUNCTION CONTROL TEST under TESTING. If battery voltage was indicated in both tests, perform TEST "A".
