ECM Compressor Control Test: Notes
NOTE:
During the following tests, refer to WIRING DIAGRAM at end of this article.
NOTE:
When performing this test, outside air temperature should be more than 60°F (16°C).
- Disconnect ECM connectors. ECM is located on right front engine compartment, front of strut tower. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Set A/C-heater control unit to UPPER position. Connect A/C compressor relay if previously disconnected.
- Using a voltmeter, connect voltmeter leads between Dark Green/White wire and ground at ECM connector A12 (Orange connector). If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check Dark Green/White wire for an open. If wire is okay, replace A/C compressor relay.
- Connect voltmeter leads between Light Green wire and ground at ECM connector C17 (Green connector). If battery voltage does not exist, check for an open at Light Green wire. If wire is okay, perform A/C FUNCTION CONTROL TEST. If battery voltage was indicated in both tests, perform TEST A.
