A/C-Heater Power Module Test: Notes

NOTE: During the following tests, refer to WIRING DIAGRAM at end of this article.
  1. Disconnect A/C-heater power module connectors. A/C-heater power module is located behind instrument panel, under right side of plenum. Turn ignition to RUN position. Set blower motor speed to HIGH and A/C-heater control unit to OFF.
  2. Using a voltmeter, measure voltage between Red wire and ground, Red wire and Black wire, and Gray/Black wire and ground at A/C-heater power module connector. If battery voltage (about 9 volts for Gray/Black wire and ground) is present for each test, but blower motor does not run, perform TEST A.
  3. If battery voltage is not present in step 2), check fusible link and Red wire, Black ground wire and Gray/Black wire for open. If all wires are okay, perform A/C-HEATER CONTROL ASSEMBLY TEST.
