A/C Compressor Function Control Test

NOTE: During the following tests, refer to WIRING DIAGRAM at end of this article.
NOTE: When performing this test, outside air temperature should be more than 60°F (16°C).
  1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Set A/C-heater control unit to UPPER position. Using a voltmeter, back probe A/C-heater control unit connector C2 (Natural connector). Connect voltmeter leads between Light Green wire and ground at A/C-heater control unit connector C2.
  2. If voltmeter reads 5 volts, check Light Green wire for short. If wire is okay, replace A/C-heater control unit. Repeat test with A/C mode in LOWER, BI-LEV, DEFOG, and DEF positions.
