Test D: Seat Reclining Functions Do Not Operate Properly For One Seat

NOTE: Perform tests with switch connectors connected.
  1. Connect test lamp between each reclining seat switch terminal A (ORN/BLK) wire and ground. In each case, the test lamp should light. If test lamp does not light at any switch, check ORN/BLK (60) for an open circuit.
  2. Connect test lamp between each reclining seat switch terminal A (ORN/BLK) wire and terminal E (BLK) wire. Test lamp should light. If not, check BLK (151) for an open circuit between switch and ground.
  3. Connect test lamp between each reclining seat switch terminal A (ORN/BLK) wire and terminal B (BLK) wire. Test lamp should light. If not, check BLK (151) for an open circuit between switch and ground.
  4. Connect test lamp between recliner seat switch terminals C (LT BLU) and D (LT GRN) wire terminals. Operate the reclining seat switch in the FWD and RECLINE positions. The test lamp should light in both cases. If not, check/repair wires between suspect seat recliner motor and suspect recliner switch for a short to ground. If okay, replace suspect recliner switch.
  5. If all voltages and test lamp lights lights in each case, check LT BLU (277) and LT GRN (276) wires. If okay, replace the suspect seat recliner motor.
