Diagnosis Procedure

  1. CHECK ENCODER SIGNAL 
    1. Ignition switch ON.
    2. Check signal between power window switch (passenger side) harness connector and ground with oscilloscope.
      (+) (-) Signal (Reference value)
      Power window switch (passenger side)
      Connector Terminal
      D46 12 Ground Refer to following signal

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES>>

    Replace power window switch (passenger side). Refer to Removal and Installation .

    NO>>

    GO TO 2.

  2. CHECK ENCODER SIGNAL CIRCUIT 
    1. Ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect power window switch (passenger side) connector and power window motor (passenger side) connector.
    3. Check continuity between power window switch (passenger side) harness connector and power window motor (passenger side) harness connector.

      D46 12 D47 2 Existed
      15 5
    4. Check continuity between power window switch (passenger side) harness connector and ground.
      Power window switch (passenger side) - Continuity
      Connector Terminal
      D46 12 Ground Not existed
      15

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES>>

    GO TO 3.

    NO>>

    Repair or replace harness.

  3. CHECK ENCODER POWER SUPPLY 
    1. Connect power window switch (passenger side) connector.
    2. Ignition switch ON.
    3. Check voltage between power window motor (passenger side) harness connector and ground.
      (+) (-) Voltage
      Power window motor (passenger side)
      Connector Terminal
      D47 4 Ground 9 - 16 V

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES>>

    GO TO 5.

    NO>>

    GO TO 4.

  4. CHECK ENCODER POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT 
    1. Ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect power window switch (passenger side) connector.
    3. Check continuity between power window switch (passenger side) harness connector and power window motor (passenger side) harness connector.
      Power window switch (passenger side) Power window motor (passenger side) Continuity
      Connector Terminal Connector Terminal
      D46 4 D47 4 Existed
    4. Check continuity between power window switch (passenger side) harness connector and ground.
      Power window switch (passenger side) - Continuity
      Connector Terminal
      D46 4 Ground Not existed

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES>>

    Replace power window switch (passenger side). Refer to Removal and Installation .

    NO>>

    Repair or replace harness.

  5. CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT 1 
    1. Ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect power window switch (passenger side) connector.
    3. Check continuity between power window switch (passenger side) harness connector and power window motor (passenger side) harness connector.
      Power window switch (passenger side) Power window motor (passenger side) Continuity
      Connector Terminal Connector Terminal
      D46 3 D47 1 Existed

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES>>

    GO TO 6.

    NO>>

    Repair or replace harness.

  6. CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT 2 
    1. Connect power window switch (passenger side) connector.
    2. Check continuity between power window switch (passenger side) harness connector and ground.
      Power window switch (passenger side) - Continuity
      Connector Terminal
      D46 3 Ground Existed

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES>>

    Replace power window motor (passenger side). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly .

    NO>>

    Replace power window switch (passenger side). Refer to Removal and Installation .
