DTC Diagnosis Procedure

1. Turn ignition switch OFF
2. Disconnect FPCM harness connector.
3. Turn ignition switch ON.
4. Check the voltage between FPCM harness connector and ground.

   Fuel level sensor unit and fuel pump		Ground	Condition	Voltage (Approx.)
   Connector	Terminal
   B97	6	-	For 1 second after turning ignition switch ON	Battery voltage
   			More than 1 second after turning ignition switch ON	0 V

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 2.

NO>>

Perform the trouble diagnosis for power supply circuit.

1. Turn ignition switch OFF
2. Check the continuity between FPCM harness connector and ground.

   Fuel level sensor unit and fuel pump		Ground	Continuity
   Connector	Terminal
   B97	3	-	Existed

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 3.

NO>>

Repair or replace error-detected parts.

1. Turn ignition switch OFF
2. Disconnect FPCM harness connector and ECM connector.
3. Check the continuity between FPCM harness connector and ECM harness connector.

   ECM		Fuel level sensor unit and fuel pump		Continuity
   Connector	Terminal	Connector	Terminal
   E21	138	B97	5	Existed
   	144		4

4. Also check harness for short to ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 4.

NO>>

Repair or replace error-detected parts.

1. Replace fuel level sensor unit and fuel pump. Refer to Removal and Installation .
2. Perform DTC confirmation procedure again. Refer to DTC Description .
3. Check the DTC.

Is the DTC P064A displayed again?

YES>>

GO TO 5.

NO>>

INSPECTION END

1. Replace ECM. Refer to ECM : Removal and Installation .
2. Perform DTC confirmation procedure again. Refer to DTC Description .
3. Check the DTC.

Is the DTC P064A displayed again?

YES>>

Check intermittent incident. Refer to Intermittent Incident .

NO>>

INSPECTION END
