DTC Confirmation Test (Using Generic Scan Tool)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Infiniti G35. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: DO NOT use ECM ground terminals when measuring voltage. Damage to ECM transistor may result. Use engine ground.
NOTE: Use the following test to check overall function of HO2S1 sensor circuit. During this test, a DTC may not be confirmed.
NOTE: If a DTC confirmation test has been previously performed, turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds before performing next DTC confirmation test.
  1. Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature.
  2. Measure voltage between engine ground and ECM harness connector F101 terminal No. 91 (bank 1) or terminal No. 92 (bank 2) by backprobing.
  3. While observing voltmeter, increase engine speed to 2000 RPM under no load. Voltage should cycle between zero to 0.3 volt and 0.6 to one volt more than 5 times within 10 seconds. If voltage is not as specified, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . If voltage is as specified, system is okay at this time.
