When using LEXUS hand-held tester:

  1. Check tachometer value. 

    PREPARATION: 

    Connect the LEXUS hand-held tester to the DLC3.

    CHECK: 

    1. Enter DATA LIST function of the LEXUS hand-held tester.
    2. When driving the vehicle, check that parameter value of "Tachometer" changes on the screen of the LEXUS hand-held tester.
    1. OK : Replace combination meter (See  REMOVAL  ). 
    2. NG : Go to next step. 
  2. Check wire harness and connector between combination meter and ECM (See  HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ). 
    1. NG : Repair or replace wire harness or connector. 
    2. OK : Check and repair ignition coil and wire harness.
