DTC Confirmation Test (Using Generic Scan Tool)

NOTE: If a DTC confirmation test has been previously performed, turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds before performing next DTC confirmation test.
  1. Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
  2. Turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds.
  3. Restart engine and let it idle for 2 minutes.
  4. Turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds.
  5. Restart engine and let it idle for 2 minutes.
  6. Select MODE 3 with generic scan tool.
  7. If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . If 1st trip DTC is not detected, go to next step.
  8. Repeat steps  1 - 6 as needed. If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . If 1st trip DTC is not detected, system is okay at this time.
